What We Offer

CME Therapy

Cuevas MEDEK Exercise (CME, formerly MEDEK) is a technique that uses a specific style of exercise or movement to promote the body's automatic postural response against gravity.

As the child progresses, the therapist reduces their level of assistance, or increases the difficulty of the movement to elicit the targeted postural response, such as supporting a child at their shoulders, trunk, pelvis then thighs to ankles as they become stronger. In other words, this reduction in support is key in advancing the child's ability and developing their postural reactions. Therefore, the provocation of absent motor functions by the use of distal support is the integral foundation of CME therapy.

CME caters for all levels of ability (3-4 months or older, and no more than 30kg), with table exercises to begin and can then  progress to floor exercises. The floor exercises use seven pieces of equipment created into many configurations, individually set up to challenge the child.

CME therapy is the creation and life’s work of Kinesiologist and Physical Therapist, Ramon Cuevas. To learn more, visit the CME International Centre website at www.cuevasmedek.com.

FUNctional Physiotherapy

Putting the FUN into function. FUNctional physiotherapy consists of 7-9 exercises performed in an hour using the principles of neuroplasticity, strength and motor planning through repetition to help your child reach their goals.
